Wine Tasting

There are plenty of vineyards a short drive from here in the Malepère appellation. Naturally, our very tasty local fizz, Limoux, is also available. If you need any advice on which vineyards to visit, or if you would like us to arrange a tasting for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

Here are a few vineyards that we recommend:

Domaine Gayda

Domaine Gayda is a beautiful and charming winery located 30 minutes from Montcabirol. They offer a variety of tours and tastings for visitors. The free wine tastings are a great way to try their wines, and they also offer more in-depth tours of the vineyard and winery. The tours are informative and engaging, and they give visitors a deeper understanding of the winemaking process.

Côté Resto restaurant is located at Domaine Gayda and offers stunning views of the vineyards and olive groves. The restaurant serves authentic, traditional, and tasty cuisine prepared with local produce. The menu changes seasonally, and there is always something new to try. The restaurant is a great place to enjoy a meal after your tour or tasting.

Domain la Louviere 

Domain la Louviere is a family-owned vineyard in the Malepère appellation, just a short drive from the Ariege. The vineyard is known for its high-quality wines, produced from grapes grown on the estate's limestone and clay soils. They offer a variety of wine tasting experiences, tailored to the needs of individual visitors and groups. The most popular option is the "Classic Wine Tasting", which includes a tasting of five of the vineyard's most popular wines, led by an experienced winemaker.

For visitors who want to learn more about the winemaking process, they also offer a "Vineyard and Winery Tour". This tour includes a walk through the vineyards, a visit to the winery, and a tasting.

Domain NJC: 

Small, family-run vineyard with excellent wine tastings. At Domaine NJC, their wines are made from grapes that they grow themselves, harvested by hand and meticulously handled from vineyard to bottle. Booking is essential.
